Ramadan Projects is an initiative by Markfield AI Network, in collaboration with Islamic Foundation, designed to encourage children and teenagers to utilize their time productively during the holy month of Ramadan by learning to code and building useful applications.

Over a period of 30 days, participants are challenged to learn new technologies, collaborate with peers, and build projects that solve real-world problems or provide entertainment in a halal environment.

You have the month of Ramadan to design and develop a software project using AI tools, to help someone of your choice. Maybe to help an elder, or the environment, or your local community needs, or to teach a young person. You can also consider national and global issues. Use any free AI tools to help you.

Our Goals

  • Inspire creativity and innovation among youth.
  • Teach valuable technical skills like web development and AI.
  • Foster a community of young Muslim developers.
  • Showcase talent through our public gallery.
  • Build projects that help someone in real life.

How it works

Participants can work individually or in teams. You can use any technology stack you prefer, but we highly recommend web technologies (HTML, CSS, JS) as they are accessible and easy to share. Use free AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude AI, and Replit to help you code. The project can be a game, app, service or website and open source where possible.

At the end of the month, submit your GitHub or Replit link to be featured in our gallery!
